Vamadevan Asokan was a member of the Indian Economic Service and retired as Adviser in the Planning Commission, Government of India. He is enrolled as an Advocate with the Bar Council of Delhi, India. He is also a social activist holding responsible positions in social, educational and charitable societies.
His job responsibilities include directing and controlling the work and resources of the company and ensuring the recruitment and retention of the required numbers and types of well-motivated, trained and developed staff to ensure that it achieves its mission and objectives. He is also responsible for providing strategic advice and guidance to the members of the Board, to keep them aware of the developments within the industry and to ensure that the appropriate policies are developed to meet the company's mission and objectives and to comply with all relevant statutory and other regulations. He maintains an effective formal and informal relationship with major customers, relevant government departments and agencies, local authorities, key decision-makers and other stakeholders generally, to exchange information and views and to ensure that the company is providing the appropriate range and quality of services.
